South Wales Coal legacy impacts on repurposing Victorian School to carbon neutral Community Hub.
The ground source heat pump system to serve the Hub was utilising the former school playground with the ground source collectors utilising 8 No 120 metre deep boreholes. However, on drilling unrecorded coal mine workings at around 90 metres lead to adopting a fall-back arrangement of 16 No 60 metre boreholes.
